Challenging case with symptomatic right-sided internal carotid artery stenosis, located high above the carotid bifurcation, making endarterectomy impossible. The CTA results showed75% stenosis with low-density plaque morphology (mainly lipidic/inflammatory tissue, 24 Hounsfield units) and no calcification observed.
Walrus balloon guiding catheter fully inflated in the common carotid artery. During stent deployment and balloon angioplasty, continuous aspiration and balloon guide protection ensured a successful outcome.
The use of Walrus BGC was crucial in tackling this complex case, setting a benchmark for future interventions.
